Q1. Can I provide my own alcohol?
Walkabout Creek does not offer any BYO services. We do however, offer an extensive list of alcoholic beverages to choose from and would be willing to supply additional options at an extra charge. Please discuss further with your event coordinator.
Q2. Are prices inclusive of GST?
All prices listed in Walkabout Creek brochures are inclusive of GST
Q3. Do you cater for special dietary needs?
Dietary requirements can always be catered for. Guests requiring a special meal will be catered for according to their needs. We take pride in offering a range of dietary specific meals that don’t substitute taste or quality. Please discuss further with your event coordinator.
Q4. Is there accommodation at Walkabout Creek?
Walkabout Creek does not offer any accommodation onsite however, you will have no problems locating the perfect accommodation in the surrounding areas. Mount Nebo and Spring Hill are located just 5 minutes away from Walkabout Creek. Here you will find a number of smaller bed and breakfasts. If this is not enough the Brisbane CBD and Southbank are just down the road, offering everything from small boutique accommodation to large, globally recognised five star hotels.
Q5. Is there public transport to and from Walkabout Creek?
Brisbane City Council buses run hourly to The Gap park ‘n’ ride bus stop located 5 minutes walk away from Walkabout Creek. All bus timetables can be found on www.translink.com.au.
Q6. Is Walkabout Creek open everyday?
Walkabout Creek is open everyday except New Years Day, Good Friday and Christmas Day.
Walkabout Creek Wildlife Centre is open from 9am to 4.15pm daily
Green Tree Frog Cafe is open Monday to Friday – 10am to 2pm
Saturday 9am to 4pm
Sunday 9am to 4pm
Q7. Can I bring in an outside caterer?
Walkabout Creek is operated by Cuisine on Cue, they are the exclusive caterers for the venue. Cuisine on Cue is a full service catering company that can aid in every aspect of any event or function.

Q8. Can I provide my own decorations?
Absolutely, the theme and vision of the event is completely up to you. However, If needed we do offer a range of event theming services. For more information please contact one of our events team.
Q9. What is the minimum guest numbers required?
Walkabout Creek requires a minimum of 50 guests for each function. We can still accommodate smaller groups if needed however, extra staffing charges will apply.
Q10. Do I need to hire a wedding/event coordinator?
Our onsite events coordinators have a wealth of experience, facilitating a variety of different events. Whether it is a wedding, corporate or private function you can be assured that the day will go smoothly.
Q11. Is there free parking available?
Yes, there are a number of free car parks located just outside the Walkabout Creek entrance.
Q12. Do you have wet weather options?
Rain or shine, Walkabout Creek have an answer for everything. If there is wet weather forecast for the day of your event we can accommodate you on our decking, with panoramic views of the forest and lake it is a great space for any event.
