The Walkabout Creek facility was originally opened as a wildlife Expo and tea house in 1988 by the Department of Natural Resources as a bicentennial project for Brisbane Expo 88. Function rooms were added in the mid nineties.

The Walkabout Creek Function and Conference Centre which also includes the Walkabout Creek Cafe, is managed and operated by Cuisine on Cue.

Cuisine on Cue is a proudly Brisbane based and privately owned Catering Company formed in June 1995, and is now recognised as one of Brisbane’s leading caterers.

We are based at 80 George St. Brisbane, where our Head Office, Production Kitchen for catering services, and Cue Cafe are located. We also operate the Walkabout Creek Cafe, and the Walkabout Creek Weddings, Conference and Functions centre at The Gap.

Our catering services range from small informal meetings to 5 star events, servicing groups from the corporate, government and private sectors. We have successfully managed a steady business growth throughout the years using a highly collaborative approach with our onsite catering partners, with a strong customer service, food quality and an open communications focus
