The Wedding Ceremony
The ceremony was held on the Lakeside Lawn. The newlyweds said their vows in front of a stunning rustic wooden arbour with a native floral design on the corner arch. The aisle was lined with white rose petals and white chairs were set up on the lawn for guests.
After the ceremony, group photos were taken on the lawn before the bridal party left for photos around the lake. The guests made their way over to the Small Lawn for pre-reception drinks. The area was set up with large lawn games, mezze boards and cheese platters on rustic wooden boards. Drinks were served to guests as the sun set.
The Wedding Reception
The marquee wedding reception was held on the Lakeside Lawn. The space was styled with decorative festoon lighting suspended above a range of dry bars and small square tables. Tables were styled with white linen tablecloths and accompanied by white Americana chairs. The bridesmaid’s bouquets were set up around the marquee and tables were decorated with tea-light candles and Fleur de Lis Lanterns.
Larger canapés were served once the bridal party returned with delicious bites including yogurt braised lamb kebabs and grilled avocado and halloumi burgers. Substantial fork dishes were served after speeches with a choice of steamed barramundi or braised beef cheek. The final course served during this relaxed cocktail reception was a gourmet glazed ham station with crusty bread rolls and an array of condiments.
A dainty selection of dessert treats and the plated wedding cake were served for dessert followed by the first dance and father-daughter dance.
Nestled within the tranquil rainforest of D’Aguilar National Park and overlooking the beautiful Enoggera Reservoir hides one of Brisbane’s most stunning marquee wedding venues. Featuring native wildlife, lush greenery, and tranquil sounds of the forest, Walkabout Creek boasts endless opportunities for spectacular wedding ceremonies and receptions.
