Micro Weddings · Walkabout Creek, Brisbane
The whole rainforest, just for your favourite people.
A three-hour rainforest wedding for 20 to 50 guests, 25 minutes from the Brisbane CBD. Ceremony, grazing boards, dinner, drinks, a private reception room and your own coordinator, from $110 per person.
What a micro wedding is here
More time with the people you love.
A micro wedding at Walkabout Creek gives you a whole national park to marry in, a private reception room that's yours alone, and the same team and coordinator who look after our largest weddings.
With 20 to 50 guests, the day gets more generous, not less. Real conversations with every person in the room, food worth lingering over, and hours that belong to you rather than to a receiving line.
- Grazing boards served the moment your ceremony finishes
- Your choice of plated, banquet, buffet or cocktail dinner
- A three-hour house beverage package with beer and wine
- An experienced wedding coordinator running the day for you
The spaces
Two ways to say your vows, two rooms to celebrate in
Every micro wedding pairs one ceremony setting with one reception room, so your whole day happens in the one place. Tap any space to see it up close.

Is a micro wedding for you?
Made for couples who want their closest people close by.
- You want 20 to 50 people, and you'd like to actually speak to all of them
- You'd rather spend on food, drinks and photographs than on filling a room
- You want a real setting, not a function room that could be anywhere
- You'd like the day handled by a coordinator, not by your family and friends
Planning something larger, or something even smaller? Our full wedding packages open up all six spaces for up to 200 guests, and we host elopements too. Just ask.

Good to know
Micro wedding questions, answered
How many guests can we have?
Micro weddings are designed for 20 to 50 guests. If you're planning something smaller we can talk about an elopement, and above 50 our full wedding packages open up all six of our ceremony and reception spaces, seating up to 200.
What does a micro wedding cost?
Between $110 and $150 per person, depending on the dinner style you choose. That covers your grazing boards, dinner, a three-hour house beverage package with beer and wine, your private reception room and the styling essentials. Ask us for the full brochure and we'll break it down for your guest number.
When are micro weddings available?
Lunch sessions run Monday to Saturday, with the ceremony at 11am and the reception from 12 to 3pm. Evening sessions run Monday to Thursday, with the ceremony at 4pm and the reception from 5 to 8pm. Either way you have three hours of reception time.
What time can we get in to set up?
You're guaranteed access to your room from 9am on the day. Setting up the day before depends on whether we have a booking in that space, so it's safest to plan for your friends, family or our staff to set up on the morning.
Do you print our seating chart and place cards?
No, the venue doesn't print seating charts or place cards, so you'll want to bring those with you. We do provide an easel and frame to display your seating plan, plus timber cake and gift tables.
Can we play our own music?
Yes. Both reception rooms include an in-room sound system with aux connectivity, so you can play your own playlist, along with a wireless microphone and a lectern for speeches. If you'd rather have a DJ or live musicians, you're welcome to bring them in.
Is the venue accessible?
Yes. Both reception rooms are wheelchair friendly, and the Lakeview Stage ceremony site is wheelchair accessible, around a 200-metre walk from drop-off. The Lawn has its own driveway for step-free access. Tell us about any mobility needs and we'll help you choose.
Can we leave things here overnight?
Storage is limited, so large items need to go home with you on the night. Smaller items and leftover cake can usually be stored overnight, as long as they're collected by midday the following day.
